Gareth Charles Memorial Shield
In September 1993 the club suffered a great loss as Gareth Charles, a young and very enthusiastic member of the club, tragically lost his life as a result of a road traffic accident on the outskirts of Cookstown.
In recognition of Gareth’s contribution to Cookstown Nisc it was decided to dedicate a shield in his memory. Every year fellow member’s battle for the coveted shield via a hotly contested Pool competition which at times pushes friendly rivalry to the limit.
