The “First Royal” Northern Ireland International Football Supporters Club met on Thursday 3rd January for their Annual General Meeting.
The main subject on the agenda for discussion was the ticket block-booking scheme. After some debate this has been deferred possibly until April until such times as the legal issue between the IFA and Linfield Football Club is resolved not forgetting the ‘new stadium’ saga.
The election of club officers for 2008 was then conducted by two representatives from the Amalgamation of Northern Ireland Football Supporters Clubs, Gary McAllister the Public Relations Officer and Ricky McIntyre a member of the Committee.

Elected were as follows;
Club Chairman, Tyrone Lindsay; Vice-Chairman, Darryl Mills; Secretary, Alastair Harvey; Treasurer, Gillian Crooks; Assist. Treasurer, Stephanie Campbell; Public Relations Officer, Stanley Heron; Membership Secretary, June Parke; Ticket Secretary, Ted McKinney; Child Protection Officer, Rhona Black; Committee Members Bert Cullen, Thomas Newell and Andy Smith.

The newly elected Chairman, Tyrone Lindsay then addressed the members and thanked his predecessor Paul Campbell for his tireless dedication to the club during his two years in office, especially 2006 when the club celebrated it’s twenty-fifth anniversary. He remarked that those present at the 25th Anniversary Dinner could never forget the lengths to which Paul ensured his obedience in one poignant moment was carried out! Then there was his aquatic ‘belly-slide’ to celebrate the Cookstown club winning the “North Coast NI Supporters Club’s” annual five-a-side tournament in Portstewart. The Glastonbury Festival wouldn’t have a look-in, hilarious and totally awesome!

Gareth Charles Pool Competition
Congratulations to big Derek Farr for being crowned the 2008 Champion after a close fought final with Bob Wylie who for the 3rd year running is the unfortunate bridesmaid. 32 members challenged for this year's title proving the popularity of the event and as a result it had to be spread over 2 nights. Many Thanks to Cookstown Hockey Club for the use of their excellent premises.
